A Farewell to Arms: Book One

The first book of A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway, in my opinion, might take a while for anyone to get into but once you have a clear understanding of what the author is trying to say, some of the more intricate parts of the book become obvious and easy to recognize.  The brashness of some of the more abrupt sentences can often trick the reader if they are not careful and many of the finer intricacies can simply be looked over.  This is often true with the symbolism used to describe the war happening around the main character, Fredrick Henry.
